LafargeHolcim anuncia cambios en estructura

08 January 2018

Mexico leaves North America region and becomes part of Latin America.

The world's largest manufacturer of cement and construction materials LafargeHolcim announced changes in its senior management structure, in order to "have a more agile and market-focused administration." The executive committee will be reduced to nine members.

According to the company, the definition of the new strategy will imply greater responsibilities of its national operations for both gains and losses, with more emphasis on developing winning strategies. The 30 largest national organizations of the multinational will report directly to the executive committee, and the global business will be unified under the sole leadership of the council.

It was announced that Marcel Cobuz is from now on the leader of the European region and becomes a member of the council. At 47, Cobuz replaces Roland Köhler, who retires after more than 30 years of work. René Thibault will be the leader for the North America region and will also serve on the committee.

As far as your management organization around the world is concerned, the regions will be organized according to their similarities. This affects Latin America especially, since the Mexican market will be managed with the rest of Latin America, and no longer together with North America.

Australia and New Zealand, which were part of the Europe region, will join the management of the Asia region. In turn, China will report directly to CEO Jan Jenisch.
