EIMA 2024: RM Irrigation Equipment launches eSpeedy hose winders

RM Irrigation Equipment has launched new e40 and e50 models of its eSpeedy range of winding hoses. The equipment is commonly used to support agricultural irrigation.

While larger units use diesel engines – examples on the RM stand at EIMA featured engines from FPT Industrial – the new eSpeedy models are fitted with electric motors.

Power is stored in small 18 V li-ion batteries. Mounted on the machine in a lockbox, they can be swapped out with freshly recharged units to keep the machine operational.

Features include a ‘use friendly’ display which includes a rewind start button and rewind speed adjuster.

The eSpeedy models are available with nozzles ranging in size from 7 to 14 mm. These support pressures from 2.3 up to 9.0 bar.

The winder units use 16x6.50-8 (e40) and 18x8.50-8 (e50) tyres. The e50 also has the option of an additional third wheel on the front.

A worm screw hose guide ensures that the hose rewinds safely and securely. There is also an optional 1.5” electrically-controlled ball valve to automatically shut off water when hose has finished rewinding.

Options include solar panels to help recharge the battery.
